Where there is a lot of written material associated with a website that you might want to print off, that material may be saved as a PDF file (Portable Document Format). Video/Audio
The media clips on this site can be viewed using either Windows Media Player or the default video player plug-in on your system.

This means that rather than downloading the entire sound or video file at once, the file is 'streamed' to your computer in real time, much like a television or radio broadcast.
