Yell.com And Flycast Bring Fast Results To UK Business - 1 February 2000

Yell.com, the UK portal of the Yellow Pages group, has announced an agreement with Flycast Communications to help SMEs (small to medium businesses) reach customers through the Internet.

San Francisco based Flycast, is a majority-owned operating company of CMGI, Inc., and a leading provider of Internet direct response advertising solutions.

This particular service will see Yellow Pages sell banner space to its customers using Flycast’s banner advertising network. Because of its ability to specifically target a global, national or regional market, this allows advertisers money invested in banner advertising to be used to effectively deliver a precise customer need and so optimise effectiveness.

"This new service means we can offer comprehensive, wide-reaching and targeted online advertising solutions to SME businesses," said Dr Eddie Cheng, Yellow Pages’ New Media Services Director. "Our business customers will benefit from a one-stop online advertising solution to expand their marketing presence, attract new customers and increase e-commerce sales."

Yellow Pages and Flycast are already extending their business relationship to develop and market a range of effective e-commerce solutions for Yellow Pages business customers, using Flycast’s technology and expertise.

Peter Nicas, EVP of strategy and business development at Flycast, said "The combination of Flycast and Yellow Pages makes it efficient and cost-effective for local and regional businesses to leverage the marketing potential of the Internet."

"This relationship enhances Flycast’s position as a worldwide leader in providing regionally-targeted web advertising solutions. Yellow Pages is a powerful partner for us as we continue to introduce new advertising options to the fast-growing European market."
